A full day seminar on Cinematography, Film Editing and Sports Journalism was conducted at Don Bosco Image for thirty six post graduate journalism students from Don Bosco Arts and Science College, Kannur University. “What the books won’t say will have to be got from those who have in-depth knowledge and experience over the years” said Mr. Pradeep, Senior Journalist from ‘The Hindu’ while handling the topic on Sports Journalism. The participants experienced a unique method of learning on Film Production. Audio visual workshops were conducted by Fr. Jiji Kalavanal, Director of Don Bosco IMAGE, in three sessions. The topics covered were Film editing methods and techniques, Camera techniques in film and Principles of Film Shooting. The classes began at 09.00 am and ended at 09.30 pm.
Mr. Pradeep, Senior Journalist from ‘The Hindu’ animated the students on ‘Sports Journalism Today’. The interactive session took the students to the history, sport reporting, feature writing, interviews, sports analysis and the relevance of appropriate styles and method of sport reporting.
The students appreciated the way the subjects were handled, method of teaching, the content of the seminar and the ambient of the learning. The day concluded with a preview of Oscar winner “Inglourious Basterds” directed by Quentin Tarantino and a forum on the film.
